THE JOURNEY OF DREAMING BIG

As I approach my 31st birthday, I often find myself reflecting on the path I’ve chosen – a path of dreaming big, of entrepreneurship, and of going against the grain. It’s a journey that’s both challenging and rewarding, and one that I’ve largely navigated alone, save for the unwavering support of my wife, whom I was fortunate enough to meet in high school. Although in highschool I had no idea what I wanted to be or what I wanted to do, even had my own legal troubles when I was younger I was lucky enough to pull through, even barely. I kept going and my wife was always by my side even back then as my girlfriend then my fiancé.

THE JOURNEY OF DREAMING BIG

EMBRACING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL LIFESTYLE

LATE NIGHTS AND EARLY MORNINGS

Dreaming big means sacrificing sleep for progress. I’ve spent countless nights going to bed late and waking up early, driven by the relentless pursuit of my goals. It’s a routine that demands resilience and dedication.

A SMALLER CIRCLE OF FRIENDS

This journey has naturally led to having very few friends. The path of an entrepreneur is often misunderstood, and not everyone is comfortable with the unconventional choices and risks it entails.

BEING MISUNDERSTOOD

Misunderstanding is a common theme. People often see the surface – the successes or the failures – but rarely grasp the depth of what it takes to chase a dream that’s bigger than oneself.

THE CHALLENGE OF RELATIONSHIPS

Being single seemed like a likely outcome, given the demands of this lifestyle. However, I was lucky enough to find someone who understands and shares my vision. It’s a rare and precious thing to have a partner who stands by you through the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.

NAVIGATING DOUBT AND COMPETITION

It’s a peculiar thing, but often people will support you up to a point. They’re happy to see you do well, but not better than them. This underlying competition breeds doubt, both self-imposed and from others.

THE SOLITUDE OF THE PATH

A JOURNEY OFTEN WALKED ALONE

Much of this journey is walked alone. Whether it’s making tough decisions, facing failures, or simply bearing the weight of your dreams, solitude becomes a constant companion.

THE PAYOFF OF HARD WORK

Despite the challenges, the hard work does pay off. Every small victory, every lesson learned from failure, brings me closer to my goals. It’s a testament to the power of perseverance.

Dreaming big as an entrepreneur or business owner is not a path for the faint-hearted. It’s fraught with challenges, loneliness, and misunderstandings. But for those of us who choose this path, the rewards – both personal and professional – are immeasurable. As I look back on my journey so far, I’m grateful for the experiences, for the support of my wife, and for the resilience I’ve developed. To anyone walking this path, remember: keep going. Your dreams are worth the effort.
